Chicken with Lemon and Basil

Shopping List

  • 2 chicken breasts, boned
  • Marinade:
  • 6 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 3 tbsp basil leaves
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Wash the chicken breasts and pat dry, then cut in half through the middle.

Wash and dry the basil, tear off the elaves, then finely chop.

Peel the garlic clove, slice thinly, sprinkle with salt, and leave for a few minutes before crushing with the back of a knife.

Mix the lemon juice, garlic, oil, pepper, and basil together. Since the garlic paste already contails salt, be judicious about additional salt.

Cover the chicken breasts with the marinade and leave for at least an hour.

Lay the meat on the grill and grill for approx. 10 minutes. Move the chicken about a little to prevent it sticking to the grill rack. Turn over and grill the other side for another 5 minutes or so.
